Bar & Beverage Design

Bar and beverage service design is a footprint problem before it is a design problem: back-bar, cellar, servery and joinery all have to fit into a space that is usually smaller and more irregular than a full kitchen envelope, and drainage decisions made in concrete cannot be changed once the slab is poured.

At Good Catch Bar, Manchester, ACD designed a basement bar servery where counter and joinery coordination had to resolve around structural constraints most kitchen briefs never encounter, with drainage-in-concrete decisions locked in before the pour.

Tight-footprint expertise and bespoke fabrication specification are not an add-on service here — they are the default assumption for every bar brief ACD takes on.

Good Catch Bar, Manchester

Basement bar servery with tight-footprint counter and joinery coordination. Drainage-in-concrete decisions resolved and locked in ahead of the pour, with a bespoke fabrication specification built around the site's structural constraints.

Small footprint, zero drainage surprises.

ACD operates as the specialist catering consultant within the bar and hospitality project team — interfacing with architects, joiners and main contractors to take full ownership of the beverage service scope.

  • Tight-footprint layout expertise — Back-bar, cellar and servery resolved within constrained, often irregular envelopes — the norm for bar fit-outs, not the exception.
  • Bespoke fabrication specification — Counter and joinery specified to the actual site geometry, coordinated with the joiner before fabrication starts.
  • Drainage-in-concrete coordination — Drainage routes and falls resolved and locked in before the pour — the one decision on a bar fit-out with genuinely no way back once made.
  • M&E coordination to PoC — Every gas, water, electrical and drainage connection defined in Revit before the tender pack leaves the office.
